We adopted "Elf on a Shelf" yesterday! Jess spent the night with Ashton Davis last week and he and his sister Anna both have "Elves on the Shelves" and he was totally enchanted with them, so I had been meaning to get him one so that was all I needed to get us one! He named his Elf on the Shelf, Jessabell!!!!! Pronounced, "Jezebelle" LOL!!!! Yesterday was a devil theme day I suppose, because yesterday morning I was getting on to him about hurrying up and getting ready and he told me, "Humph! I'm being raised by the devil!!!" LOL!!! Aaaaaaah!!! Life with Jess!!!!

FREAKIN' Pudding!!

Had i-Pod going in the truck Saturday morning as Jess and I go in search of his Silly bands that Ally Trail had traded him Friday night at the ballgame and promptly lost. Well, a Christmas song comes on and I start to change it but realize Jess is singing it so I think So What? It's October we can listen to Christmas music! And he's singing, very loudly I might add, "Bring us some FREAKIN' pudding, Freakin' pudding, Freakin' pudding!" I bought drove off the road I guffawed so loudly!!!!!!!!!!!!! I said Jess! "It's FIGGY pudding son!!!" LOL!!! Lord I love that funny boy!!!!

Breaking away.......

Whoever dreamed that a 6 year old would be breaking away from his mother already!!! Not me!! Yesterday was 4-H Conservation Day and we were going fishing at Mr. Richard's Lake behind his home. So I pack our cooler with water and a couple of drinks, get our rod and reels together, had bought a new fishing license for me the day before and night crawlers, got our sunscreen and a bucket to sit on and woke Jess up, later than usual, cause we had the day "off" to play together! I tell him we are going fishing and then in the afternoon we can go swimming or do whatever he wants! He looks at me and says, "Mamma, I really want to go to Taekwando." What?? "Son, did I tell you they were giving prizes?" Really? Well I really want to go to Taekwando. Mmmmm, well how about we go fishing, then I'll take you to Taekwando for the rest of the day????? Well by this time he got to playing with his Star Wars rod and reel and say, well okay. GREAT!!! We head out.........and on the way he says, "Mamma, I just really want to go to Taekwando and not go fishing, okay?"

Now don't get me wrong, I work during the day and I'm THRILLED that he loves it at Taekwando, but I LOVE to fish and share time with my boy too!!! But what can you do? Just one of God's little lessons that children do not REALLY belong to us and that they are breaking away a little everyday. This is the plan and this normal. But I sure was sad to be losing my fishing buddy at such an early age!!! LOL!!!!

Jess started Summer Sports Camp at Astin's Martial Arts center last Friday-so he also learns martial arts-Sunday evening while at Mazzio's eating he jumps out in front of one of my friends, Cissy Clark, whom he doesn't know-assumes a martial arts stance-swishes his arms around and looks up at her and say, "I've got skills!!!" She and I are still laughing about it!!!! Ahhhh!!! Life with Jess!

Nice Wife!

Jess is now 6 years old and I'd gotten off of blogging when life got too hectic and I had some issued to deal with! He is about to finish kindergarten in fact and I'm blown away by how fast the year has flown! I digress.........

Yesterday he and I were in pretty foul moods and he was wanting to swim in the pool, well the pool is pretty darn cold and I can't stand it!!! He kept harassing me wanting me to get in and I finally told him "NO! I'm NOT GONNA DO IT!!!" He looks at me and says, "When I grow up, my wife's gonna be nicer than you are!!!" I said, "Well, I surely hope so!!" LOL!!!! Gotta love the honesty of kids!!!

Connected at the Butt!

Jess raises my gown as I'm brushing my teeth yesterday and says, "Mom, you have a butt just like mine!" I say-"O-k-a-y!!!!" And then he says, "Oh yeah, I remember now, that's because when I was a wittle-bitty-baby that's where I was connected to you!!!!! LOL!!!! Gonna have to have that talk soon! Ha!

Today on the way to day school he says, "Mamma I'm sweepy!!! (sleepy) I say me too! And he starts rubbing his eye and says, "This eye is sweepy, but not the other one-it had a nap!" LOL!!!! Ahhhh!!! Life with Jess!!!!!

He also wore his swim goggles to day school as a fashion statement!! He wore them last night in the pool and then would not remove them until bed time and the had them on again this morning. I ask why, and he says, "Just because I like them and they keep my hair back" How can you beat logic like that??

Yeah! We finally got Jess in the pool yesterday!!! He's had a horrible fear of bugs this year!! Scared that mosquitos were going to, "Suck his blood out til he dies!" - type fears!!! I even decided to give into the fears since no amount of reasoning was working to dispel his terrors and took him to the library to get a book on bugs and mosquitos-thought knowledge would give him power! Well it helped a little bit until Memorial Day weekend when the poor guy was swinging on his swing set and a darn red wasp who was disturbed by me, in cleaning the bird feeder, flew over and attacked Jess!!! Stung him on the leg!!! Poor little guy!!! They hurt so badly!!! Well ever since then he stays in the house and won't even swim in the pool!!! Until yesterday he finally ventured out! Thank goodness!! We had a wonderful time!!
